Government Rebates for Hot Water & Air Conditioning

How the government discounts work

To help Victorian households and businesses use less energy, the Victorian Government runs the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program. This lowers the upfront cost of installing an energy-efficient air conditioning or hot water system. Instead of a rebate paid back later, the discount is applied directly to your installation quote — the saving appears immediately on the price you pay.

The VEU program rewards upgrades that reduce energy use. When you replace an inefficient gas heater or hot water system with a high-efficiency reverse-cycle air conditioner or heat pump, the upgrade creates energy savings. Those savings are converted into Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs). As an accredited provider, we trade those certificates with energy retailers, and the value is used to reduce the cost of your installation.

For the customer, the process is simple:

You do not need to apply directly with the government. We manage the paperwork and compliance.
